About teachers and regular lessons

You will be put in a group with students of the same level. This will be your group during the festival. All lessons will be with the same group. Some teachers might not teach in all levels. Normally You will have 4 or 5 couples assigned to your group. We change partners during the classes. Our aim is to have equal leaders and followers in each class. Classes will be held in English.

The group schedule during the festival will be posted aprox three weeks before the festival.

About levels

There will be 8-10 groups with around 16 couples in each. From Advanced level and up you can choose between Nuevo and Classic. Nuevo means that your lessons will focus on this style and the teachers are of this style and vice versa. It is of the outmost importance that the participants in the groups are of the same level. The level you signed in for might be changed only if it is very clear that you are not in the right group. Please take some time to understand the different levels or contact someone in the Tangocamp organization if you are still not sure about your level The following table describes the class levels:

Beginners - You are new to argentine tango

Intermediate - You can lead or follow the walking and forward & backwards ochos.

Intermediate/ Advanced - Giros & barridas. Ocho cortado should be in your vocabulary by now.

Advanced - Voleos & ganchos. Musicality and rhythm are a part of your dance.

Advanced Extra - Colgadas, volcadas, sacadas in all shapes are a piece of cake for you!

Masterclass - You master all above and you are teaching this stuff on a regular basis.

Double Shift

If available, we offer a few leaders the possibility to take double shifts, thus taking double amount of lessons. The cost of the extra lessons are 60 Euro. If you are interested then just check the box Double Shifts in the registration form.

Single Registration (16 of May - Stop Single women- waitinglist)

Single leaders and single followers can register without a partner. Around 30% of the participants are singles and normally we can provide with a partner for everyone. Singles will be added to the waiting list according to when payment is made, until a match is found.

We urge singles to use the partner forum to find a partner. It might happen that we can not provide a partner for all singles. The ones who we do not find a parter for will be informed. The rest are in!

Drop In Lessons

Drop In Lessons are extra lessons not included in the Tangocamp Package. Both participants and non-participants are welcome to join these lessons. For 20 Euro (10 Euro for Tangocamp participants!) you can buy the tickets at the Tangocamp shop during the festival.
